Linux User Group

Adventures in Linux - Instructor: Al Warren #2869

Next meeting: March 25  9:00m am. in the Tech Classroom

Adventures in Linux

Our last Linux meeting of the season will be on March 25th at 9am in classroom 2.  We will be discussing how to install Linux on your computer and printing and scanning on Linux.  We will also review the basics of Linux to newcomers.

Linux is an operating system very similar to Microsoft Windows but is open source and free to use.  If you have a computer with an out of support operating system (Windows 7, 8 or a Mac), you could exchange it for Linux and have a new system that is fully supported at no cost.  You can also transfer all of your data (documents, Pictures, etc.) to Linux.

If you are one of those people with a Windows 10 computer that’s not eligible for Windows 11, you are a good candidate for replacing Windows 10 with Linux.  Windows 10 will be out of support next October.  If you have a computer that you want to use Linux on, we will install it for you.  VPTC membership is required.
